Her Legacy Continues - In All Of Us.

The Shelley “Joei” Berschet Scholarship was developed in 2004 by Shelly’s mother, Jo Anne Berschet.  Shelley graduated from Edgewood College in 1991 with her degree in Early Childhood Education. After graduation she spent 9 years as an early childhood teacher with MATC at the Child and Family Center. Shelley then graced the Edgewood College campus once again, this time as a valued alumna and as a respected faculty member in the School of Education. She impacted the lives of the hundreds of students she served and embraced her new role as “colleague” to faculty and staff. Shelley worked at the College for 5 years, before sadly, she passed away in March of 2000.

Shelley touched and changed the lives of many, and today, her legacy and dedication to the field of education continues at Edgewood College – in all of us and in each of those deserving students who receive her scholarship.

Pictured is Jo Anne Berschet, Shelley’s mother,  and Kate Oryall, this year’s recipient of the Shelley “Joei” Berschet Scholarship. They stand together on campus in front of a tree planted in memory of Shelley.
