Sayeeda Mamoon
Sayeeda Mamoon (Foreign Language) has been honored with the Excellence in Scholarship and Creative Activity Award from Edgewood College. The award celebrates the central role that faculty scholarship and creative activity play in enhancing teaching and learning, enriching the intellectual life of the College, and contributing to professional communities and the common good. Dr. Mamoon is a Professor in the Foreign Language Department.
Brenda del Moral
Brenda del Moral (Biological Sciences) is this year’s recipient of the Dominican Life and Mission Award. The award celebrates an individual, area, department or partnership within the College that embodies and applies the Dominican mission to needs of our time. This annual award, established in 1987, was first presented to Sister Marie Stephen Reges, O.P., affectionately known as “Sister Stevie.”
Lauren Lacey
Lauren Lacey (English) has been honored with the 2019 Underkofler Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award. Dr. Lacey is Associate Professor in the English Department, and is Co-Director of the Women’s and Gender Studies Program. She earned both undergraduate and Master’s degrees at Boston College, and earned her Ph.D. in Literatures in English from Rutgers University.
Ashley Byock, Muriel Simms and Geoff Adelsberg
Ashley Byock (English), Muriel Simms (Dissertation Editor and Writing Coach, School of Education) and Geoff Adelsberg (Philosophy) are the recipients of the 2019 Excellence in Multicultural Education award at Edgewood College.
Jill Kirby
Jill Kirby has been promoted to Associate Professor in the Religious Studies Department. Dr. Kirby holds a Ph.D. in Biblical Studies from Catholic University.
Sergei Pavlov
Sergei Pavlov has been promoted to Associate Professor in the Music Department. Dr. Pavlov holds a DMA in Choral Conducting and Literature from the University of Illinois.
Julie Whitaker
Julie Whitaker has been promoted to full Professor in the Social Sciences Department. Dr. Whitaker holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from UW-Madison.
