1950's

Rosemary (Darcey) Augsburger ’53 of St. Louis, Missouri is saddened to share the passing of her husband, L. David Augsburger, in early January 2019. He leaves behind his wife, Rosemary, two children, three grandchildren, and a sister. He is predeceased by a son. Dave graduated from Holy Trinity High School in Bloomington, Illinois and University of Notre Dame. Dave was a good-natured man who was passionate about his family, his church, his society, and his airplanes. He had many fond friendships with Edgewood College alumni.

Meryl Carmel ’77 wrote her first book, “Finding Kate: the Unlikely Journey of 20th Century Healthcare Advocate Kate Macy Ladd,” which takes a deep look at Ladd’s life revealing a woman who was fiercely committed to the welfare of ordinary people, and who ultimately became a medical philanthropist with her creation of the Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation.

Themis Flores Ramos, MBA ’92 received the 2019 Wisconsin Women of Color Network’s Woman of Achievement Award for demonstrating commitment and service toward the improvement of the quality of life for all women, showing a high degree of professionalism in her area of expertise and doing well in personal growth and development.

2000's

Lindsey Speer ’04 is the Director of Undergraduate Admissions and Orientation at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.

Stephanie Pope, MBA ’06 has been with Oregon Institute of Technology since 2017 and was promoted this past Spring to Assistant Vice President for Financial Operations/Controller.

Ze Yang ’09 was appointed by Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers to the Wisconsin Women’s Council. The Council’s mission is to identify barriers to women’s social and economic participation in the state and work with public and private-sector partners to develop initiatives and identify solutions and to disseminate information on the status of women and issues of concern to women in the state. Yang is a bilingual educational assistant with the Verona Area School District, who is currently attending graduate school to earn an elementary teaching license. For over a decade, she has worked to serve underprivileged and underrepresented children and families in the Hmong community.

Annie Weatherby-Flowers ’11, MA ’14 was honored at the YWCA Madison’s 45th Annual Women of Distinction Leadership Awards in May.

Their friends and fellow alumni, Alex ’12 & Erin (Koepsel) Elliott ’10, welcomed twin daughters, Elyse Austin (left) and Blake Elizabeth (right), on May 2, 2018. We can’t wait to welcome these future Eagles to Edgewood College!

(right) Paige (Polzer) ’12 and Sean Knipfer welcomed son, Colt Reed Knipfer, on January 16, 2019. Paige also celebrated six years at CUNA earlier this year.

Marcia Morales ’12 was recently promoted to the position of Wisconsin Community Health Worker Network Coordinator, an organization working in collaboration with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute. After completing her degree in Sociology, Marcia completed her Master’s in Public Health in Community Health Education at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Tiffany Reichard ’16 is a library assistant – evening supervisor at the University of Minnesota.

Amanda Zmyslo ’17 is the Wildlife Artist and Taxidermist at Outdoor Addiction Taxidermy in Blue Mounds, WI. Having studied art at Edgewood, she is using her artistic knowledge every day at a job she loves – painting wildlife and training to become the new taxidermist.

Lacey Smith-Shelton ’18 is a Social Worker at Rennes Health & Rehab Center in Weston, WI.

Max Nguyen, MBA ’18 (right), is Communications Manager for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Madison. He was part of the team that recently planned and hosted a successful Care Café event. Speakers included Madison Chief of Police Mike Koval (not pictured), as well as Isaac (left), a recipient of St. Vincent de Paul Society’s assistance, and Yolanda Tolson (center), Managing Pharmacist at St. Vincent de Paul Society’s pharmacy.

In the photo on the left, Eileen McIltrot ’78 visits with Maggie Hopkins, O.P. (center) and Sarah Naughton, O.P. (right) at the Edgewood College Women’s basketball game in February. Sr. Maggie and Sr. Sarah both taught Eileen at Trinity High School in Chicago before Eileen made her way to Edgewood College.

The photo on the right is from June when the Office for Institutional Advancement hosted the annual Emerald Club reunion, honoring the Class of 1969 and all alumnae who graduated 50 years ago or more. A Class of 1969 honored class dinner was held at Nakoma Golf Club, followed by a luncheon on campus for all of Emerald Club which included time to reconnect with classmates, Mass in St. Joseph Chapel, and campus tours. Many thanks to all who attended!
